Leadership changes
In 2010, the Board of Trustees welcomed one new appointee – Tracie Crook. Ms. Crook is the former President and CEO of ResMor Trust Company and has held senior roles at the Toronto Stock Exchange, Sprint Canada, and Siemens in New York. Her expertise includes strategic planning, operations, reengineering/streamlining and relationship management. Her experience and expertise are a valuable asset for the Board. Another new appointee to the Board was named in February 2011 – Patricia Li. Ms. Li is the Assistant Deputy Minister, Direct Services Division at the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care responsible for land and air ambulance services, the Psychiatric Patient Advocacy Office, and individual eligibility programs including OHIP, assistive devices and home oxygen. Prior to this role, Ms. Li has held senior positions with various ministries and government agencies.
We also said farewell and offered our sincere appreciation to Mahmood Nanji and Richard Johnston, whose terms as Trustees concluded in 2010, and Michael Beswick, whose term ended in early 2011.
We wish to express our gratitude to our fellow Trustees and OPTrust’s management and staff for their dedication to the interests of our more than 83,000 members and pensioners. We look forward to working with them and the Plan’s sponsors as we continue to implement strategies that will help build long-term security for the Plan.
