When will you receive your OPTrust pension?

In order to begin receiving your OPTrust pension, you must terminate employment with your new employer. You should contact OPTrust three months prior to the commencement of your first pension payment. However, if you leave your job before retirement you should contact us immediately.

The OPTrust pension payment is received in the month following your last day of employment. For example, if you terminate your employment on May 30th, your first pension payment will be made in June. Pension payments are generally made on the 26th day of each month, except in December when they are paid earlier.
