OPTrust Web site enhancements
Visit the employer section of OPTrust’s Web site
OPTrust launched its upgraded Web site in September 2001. Organized into sections
based on three key user groups - members, pensioners and employers, it’s easier to
use. The site features a fresh, new look, improved navigation, a powerful new pension
calculator, and an enhanced search engine.

Pension Administration Manual
An updated version of OPTrust’s Pension Administration Manual is now
available from the OPTrust Web site in an easy-to-use Portable Document Format (PDF). The
manual provides employers, and their benefits and human resources representatives, with an
overview of the OPSEU Pension Plan and OPTrust’s administrative policies and
procedures.
By publishing the manual electronically we’ve taken advantage of a number of
helpful navigation features. These include tables of contents for each section and a
detailed list of "bookmarks" that are linked directly to each topic discussed in
the manual See the Preface in the manual

The revised manual is available in electronic format only and will be updated as
needed. We will not be publishing a printed version.

Ordering forms on-line
Ordering OPTrust forms and booklets has never been easier. Just visit the
employer’s section of the Web site to place your order, check off the material you
want, fill in your name and delivery address and we’ll send it to you.
Forms ordering
is in a secure area of the site so while you’re completing your order and when you
submit it, the information is encrypted. This prevents anyone from opening your e-mail,
until it’s opened at OPTrust.

Revised IBR form
The revised Identifying Benefit Recipients forms (optrust1015 and 1015R)
are simpler and have fewer sections to complete. We have eliminated the witness section
for both forms.
Members and pensioners fill in their identification, check off in which categories they
want to place their recipients and sign the form.
The Identifying Benefit Recipients form for retirees (optrust1015R) has larger
type and is specifically geared to pensioners – only Payment Recipient exists as a
possible benefit category.
Both forms will be available to all members and pensioners on
February 18th as downloadable forms on the Web. The changes to the IBR affected
a number of other forms and information sheets. The revised forms are:
- Statement of Spousal Relationship

- Declaration of Spousal Relationship
(optrust1059)
- Employer Termination/Divestment Checklist
(optrust1052)
- Spousal Relationship Information Sheet
- Survivor Benefits and Minor Children Factsheet

Downloadable forms
A number of OPTrust forms are available for members and pensioners to
complete online, print, sign and send to OPTrust. The forms currently available are:
- Change of Address
- Membership Enrolment (optrust1005)
- Option to make pension contributions while on leave of absence without pay (optrust
1025).
Coming soon to the site: Statement of Spousal Relationship (optrust3007) Declaration
of Spousal Relationship (optrust1059), Employer Termination/Divestment Checklist
(optrust1052), Spousal Relationship Information Sheet and Survivor Benefits and
Minor Children Factsheet.

General site enhancements
We’ve added 128-bit encryption to our site for online forms ordering,
e-mail, completing forms and registering for pension information sessions. While using any
of these services on the site, your input and transmission are secure.

More enhancements in the works…
Exciting upgrades are planned for the OPTrust Web site this year:
- a pension tax calculator will allow users to calculate their net (after tax) pension
- more downloadable forms will be added
- registrants for OPTrust’s pension information sessions will be able to check
whether sessions in their community are full, and much more.
As we make enhancements to the site, we will keep you informed through Employer
Updates.
