Canada Post Strike

Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers are on strike as of June 3, 2011. Until normal mail delivery resumes, OPTrust will do whatever is necessary to get all payments safely into the hands of pensioners and other persons waiting for payments.  OPTrust will hold all other mail, including Annual Pension Statements, until it can be safely delivered.

OPTrust offers options that may reduce the potential impact of a postal strike:

• We encourage all members to register for our secure Online Services site.  Our secure site gives you easy access to view your statements, make inquiries and quickly update your beneficiaries or other personal information. The 2010 Annual Pension Statements for members are all available in our Online Services site.
• For our retired members living in Canada or the U.S., signing up to have your pension deposited directly to your bank account offers important advantages like: speedy, reliable delivery of your pension, no line-ups at the bank, no impact of a mail strike or mail theft.
