Considering the pension needs of your spouse

If you have a spouse, that person's retirement needs will likely be part of your overall retirement plan. Your spouse's age and his/her own retirement income may affect your decision regarding the amount of the survivor pension you wish to provide. (More information on increasing a survivor pension.) The OPSEU Pension Plan provides a 60% spousal survivor pension with no reduction to the member's pension while it is paid to him or her.
