Michael joined OPTrust in 2015 as Director, Corporate Finance and now leads the Finance and Facilities team as Chief Financial Officer. He was appointed to the Executive Team in early 2026.
Michael brings extensive experience spanning public accounting, pension fund finance and banking finance, with a strong track record in financial governance, risk management and strategic planning. He has deep knowledge of OPTrust's operations, having held progressively more senior roles since joining and most recently working as Vice-President, Finance. Prior to joining OPTrust, Michael was with Deutsche Bank. He received his bachelor of arts from the University of Toronto in 2003, his master of management and professional accounting from the Rotman School of Management in 2005 and his CPA, CA designation in 2007.
